The Financial Consultant will provide support, strategic direction, and identify opportunities to their team with an emphasis on the company's Payment Innovation initiative and Cost of Care analytics to drive achievement of

business plans and initiatives.

Job Summary:

Responsible for reviewing and preparing interpretation of historical financial data, financial projections, and results. Performs consulting services to support business development studies, economic evaluation, and planning functions.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Support implementation of Payment innovation programs across the enterprise.

  2. Develops good understanding of relevant business processes, goals and strategy in order to provide analysis and interpretation.

  3. Develops action plans to address areas for improvement identified through data analysis and business expertise and works with other staff to communicate action plans to the business.

  4. May assist in the planning of initiatives to address areas for improvement.

  5. Serve as the liaison with internal organizations (e.g. Actuarial, IT, Finance, and Business Departments, particularly with Provider Engagement and Contracting) to develop and implement consistent information infrastructure and tools.

  6. Coordinates, from write up of test cases through implementation, Payment Innovation Management System (PIMS) updates for department needs.

  7. May require strong knowledge of products as well as our internal business modes and data systems.

  8. Performs complex data analysis and makes recommendations based on the results.

  9. Support the creation of cross functional training materials to assist in associate development and/or to provider internal clients with clear expectations.

  10. Support and collaborate with businesses and technical areas to implement new or enhanced products.

  11. Identifies complex financial problems or issues, researches solutions, and implements corrective steps to achieve higher level of efficiency.

  12. Advises management of various financial models and recommendations.

  13. Prepares complex presentations.

  14. Prepares financial planning, financial section of annual and quarterly reports to shareholders, applicable government reports, and budget reports.

  15. Is used as a resource by staff or outside departments.

  16. Trains and reviews the work of lower level Financial Analysts.

  • Requires a BS/BA in accounting or finance.

  • 3-5 years experience in general accounting, finance, or budget and planning.

  • Any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred.

  • Strong database skills, the ability to write complex queries and macros to support monthly payment analysis.

  • Experience with relational databases and query tools.

  • SQL, Excel and Access required.
