Mayo Clinic GI TECH -Scope Reprocessor Bronch Lab in Jacksonville, Florida
The GI Technician is a unlicensed trained individual who assists with procedures under the supervision of a physician or registered nurse.
EDUCATION : High School diploma, with previous experience in the medical field working directly with patients, preferred. EXPERIENCE : Previous experience in the procedural area is helpful.
COMPETENCY: JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must possess good human relation and communication skills to interact with physicians, RNs, GI Assistants/Technologists and patients during process. Must be especially tactful, empathetic and sensitive in carrying out relationships with patients to allow for maintenance of patient dignity and provide emotional support. Basic keyboarding skills required. ADDL CONSIDERATIONS: Must be able to flex hours to meet the demands of the clinical area if required by the department. Physical requirements as oultined by Employee Health Physical Assessment Form.
License or certification
BLS Certification required.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
Hours / Pay period
Monday - Friday; 8 hour shifts between the hours of 9:30am - 6:00pm
