The Technol - Medical-Hematology performs laboratory testing of patient specimens in the Hematology section of the laboratory.
Performs diagnostic/analytic hematology testing of specimens. Interprets, documents and reports test results.
Performs quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
Verifies analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity and references ranges for test methods.
Serves as a resource to staff as needed.
Coordinates employee training, annual competencies and student education within the microbiology department.
Demonstrates appropriate interpersonal and communication skills.
Participates in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement activities.
Licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist credentialed from the Florida Department of Health, licensure or eligible in Hematology.
Clinical Laboratory Training course required
