Position description

The Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Radiologist to join our practice.

We have a busy PET-CT practice on one PET-CT scanner and a second 5 ring PET-CT scanner being installed this year. There has been recent installation of PET-MR to the practice. A PET Radiochemistry Laboratory (Cyclotron) is almost ready with plans to start research PET tracers by end of 2018 and will be ready for drug production by early 2019.

The position will include participation in our multifaceted practice including PET Imaging (PET-CT and PET-MR), General Nuclear Medicine, and cardiac imaging. The Nuclear Medicine division currently has 3 fellowship-trained Nuclear Radiologists. The clinical practice conducted about 15,800 Nuclear Medicine exams and 3100 PET-CT examinations in 2017. PET-MR is expected to increase clinical capacity and research. Participation in PET Radiochemistry Facility drug production (including PET tracer development) and involvement in Clinical and Basic Research is desired. Clinical Lu-177 Dotatate (Lutathera) Therapies were started in March, 2018.

Extensive educational opportunities exist particularly given Mayo Clinic’s global patient mix. There are 16 trainees in the Radiology Residency Program. The Nuclear Medicine division and Radiology department benefit from strong administrative support.

License or certification

Qualified candidates must be board-certified or board- eligible by the American Board of Radiology and have advanced fellowship training in Nuclear Medicine. They should be ABR CAQ certified or CAQ-eligible, or ABNM Certified.
