Assists with cardiovascular procedures to analyze, diagnose and treat the cardiovascular system.
Prepares patients for procedures. Reviews medical history, positions patients and cleans/shaves/numbs testing sites as appropriate.
Interprets, describes and reports test results; recognizes recording errors and artifacts and reacts appropriately.
Monitors patient prior to, during and after procedures and promptly reports any abnormal findings in patient's condition.
Prepares and maintains equipment, supplies and lab area.
Heart & Vascular - Demonstrates proficiency in pulling sheaths and groin management. Understands the possible signs and symptoms of vasovagal reaction, impending hematoma formation and reports to RN immediately.
Heart & Vascular - Performs EKG's specimen collections, blood draws, Foley cath insertions and other duties directed by the RN.
BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Current Florida Department of Health Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) licensure preferred; or National Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Assistant program, Medical Assistant program, or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program required; Will accept nursing students who have completed Nursing Fundamentals courses in an accredited school of nursing Will accept individuals who have challenged and passed the CNA exam
