Senior Sourcing and Procurement Manager – Waste Expense
The Senior Sourcing and Procurement Manager is tasked with delivering cost savings and service plan effectiveness through analysis, negotiations, and building strong vendor relationships. The primary focus is to examine and negotiate new and existing contracts, primarily for tier I clients.
Primary responsibilities and duties:
Meet and exceed cost reduction targets by leveraging analytical skills, service knowledge, and strong negotiation skills to identify and execute savings opportunities in all waste disposal plans and rate structures for locations in assigned territories or for assigned clients.
Examine waste service contracts for open market accounts and update system with contract details.
Review expiring waste contracts within assigned territory and/or clients and use negotiation skills to establish new contracts.
Efficiently process incoming requests and questions within the established time frame based on request type.
Leverage service plan, pricing, vendor, contract, and market related data in WasteVision to drive savings.
Gather market information related to waste collection and disposal to support analysis activities.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills/abilities and minimum requirements:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
An ability to manage multiple tasks and relationships simultaneously.
Highly skilled in complex large negotiations.
Strong analytical skills.
Ability to effectively operate in a fast pace environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to travel up to 20%.
A level of knowledge acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent work experience.
3-5 years of prior contract negotiation experience.
Experience with waste industry preferred but not required.
