THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK SERVICES), Position Description Number T5905000 and is part of the FL 125th FW, National Guard.
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Service "under the authority of Title V, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA)", and is open to US citizens interested in helping the Department of the Air Force meet our mission requirements for the planning, directing, and coordinating of the Battle Control System-Fixed (BCS-F), command and control (C2) missions systems installation, maintenance, and support.
INTRODUCTION: This position is located in the Operations Section of the 101st Air Communications Squadron (101 ACOMS), Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. The primary purpose of this supervisory position is to serve as an Air Defense Systems development/operational tester and senior systems administrator.
NOTE #1: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses or Relocation Incentive will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work. Provide technical expertise and management oversight, in the installation, administration, optimization, and operation of multiple large and enhanced complex networks and communication systems. Develop and recommend technical solutions to mission and customer requirements. Manage Commissioning and Acceptance requirements for contractor delivered operating systems and services. Adhere to management control plan requirements by conducting self-inspection and staff assistance visits. Resolve identified discrepancies.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-12 must have at least one year experience at the GS-11 level in the normal line of progression through federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrated accomplishment of computer project assignments that require a wide range of knowledge of computer requirements and techniques pertinent to the Supervisory IT Specialist (Network Services). This knowledge is generally demonstrated by assignments where analyzing a number of alternative approaches in the process of advising management concerning major aspects of ADP system design, such as what system interrelationships must be considered, or what operating mode, system software, and/or equipment configuration is most appropriate for a given project.
