A Surgical Tech attends the surgeon and surgical team peri-operatively to provide for optimum peri-operative experience. Knowledge of anatomy, instrumentation, patient safety and sterile technique.
Our state-of-the-art hospital in Jacksonville includes 22 operating rooms that include an IMRI OR suite and a dedicated endovascular OR suite. We use the best modern equipment and advanced technologies to create an environment that merges the art of healing with the science of medicine.
Graduate of an accredited and/or hospital approved Surgical Technician program. Surgical Tech experience required unless candidate completed a Surgical Tech clinical rotation at Mayo Clinic.
Certification preferred. Principles of aseptic technique; orientation of surgical procedures; preparation, operation and care of equipment and machines; understands patient and staff safety recommendations. Capable of rapid accurate reactions; concern for quality patient care; communicates and works effectively with various levels of personnel; stands and walks major portion of work schedule; moderate to heavy lifting required; exposure to cuts, burns, infection, biohazardous chemicals and x-ray Internal applicants should submit their three most recent performance appraisals.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
